VFW is a Social Club for All

VFW stands for Veterans of Foreign Wars. You need to have served in a foreign country to become a member. Originally, the VFW was used to raise money and collect items for those overseas at war. VFW members also would visit the war veterans at hospitals. The VFW also supports the local boy scouts and cub scouts. The VFW has changed drastically over the last few years. They now do many other things with and for the community also.

Memorial Day parades are something the whole community gathers to see each year, and many are held by VFW members. Everyone young and old gathers to watch the parade. If you know someone who is a member, they can sign you up as a guest in order to attend the VFW functions. The VFW holds domino tournaments, bingo, cookouts, local bowling leagues, and each has a social hour. During social hour, you may eat dinner or just hang out for some drinks.

You may also be able to rent out the hall for parties of all kinds and baby showers. It is also a great place for weddings and wedding receptions. This usually requires a small maintenance fee for using their hall and kitchen areas. In the nicer weather, they hold garage sales and flea markets, and most of the things sold are donated. A person who would like to rent a space to sell things at the flea market are always welcome. Whatever you use the VFW for always remember, they are there helping to support our community and to help when necessary.
